LYRIC STAGE PRESENTS
EVITA

February 17-March 4, 2006

Lyric Stage presents Andrew Lloyd Webber’s International musical sensation EVITA, February 17-March 4, 2006 in the Irving Arts Center’s Dupree Theater, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd. Tickets are priced from $15 for students to $29.00 and available by calling the box office at 972-252-2787 or CLICK HERE TO ORDER ONLINE.

Winner of seven Tony Awards® including Best Musical, Score and Book, EVITA brings to life the dynamic, larger-than-life persona of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron. Driven by ambition and blessed with charisma, she is a starlet at twenty-four, First Lady at twenty-seven and dead at thirty-three. Eva Peron - saint to the working-class, reviled by the aristocracy and mistrusted by the military - was destined to leave a fascinating political legacy. Exuberant Latin, pop and jazz influences create a gripping theatrical experience as the story is told mostly in song. The memorable and compelling score has become one of the most popular collaborations between Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. In addition to the 7 Tony Awards, EVITA has been honored with the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical; the Olivier Award for Best Musical; the New York and LA Critics Circle Awards for Best Musical and the Drama Desk Award for Best Musical.

Lyric Stage’s production will be directed and choreographed by Len Pfluger and James McQuillen returns to Lyric Stage as musical director. Scenic design is by Wade Giampa with lighting design by Linda Blase.

Catherine Carpenter Cox will make her Dallas stage debut as Eva Peron with Brian Gonzales as Che and Blake Davidson as Juan Peron. Stephanie Hall will sing the role of Peron’s mistress and Brian Hathaway will play Migaldi. The EVITA ensemble includes Stephen Bates, Dayton Dobbs, Randy Dobbs, Eddie Floresca, Jay Gardner, Carlos Gomez, Martin Guerra, Lindsey Holloway, Joy Ingram, Linda Leonard, Jonathan McCurry, C. Nicholas Morris, Denise Pacific, Kristi Rowan, Kim Smith, R. Bradford Smith, David Lee Staggers, James Williams and Jodi C. Wright.
