LOOK HOMEWARD HONKY TONK ANGEL

Lyric Stage, Dallas County's only locally produced professional musical theater company, continues its 15th season with LOOK HOMEWARD HONKY TONK ANGEL, October 5-20, 2007, in the Irving Arts Center's Dupree Theatre.

Book writers Anthony Dodge and Marcia Milgrom Dodge have teamed with Country music superstar Larry Gatlin to write LOOK HOMEWARD HONKY TONK ANGEL, an original country musical comedy. Kiss Me Kate meets The Grand Ole Opry in this tale of Country music legend Jimmy John Angel's Reunion Concert with his ex-wife and even bigger star, Dixie Diamond. Jimmy John's life of unscrupulous trickery - on stage and off - is exposed in this hysterical new musical. The score features over a dozen Larry Gatlin hits including "Houston," "Sure Feels Like Love" and "All the Gold in California" plus 5 new songs written expressly for this new musical.

Jim Green stars as Jimmy John with Theatre World Award winner Julie Johnson as Dixie Diamond. Catherine Carpenter Cox, Joshua Doss, Shane Hurst, Jaclyn North, Jenay Puckett and Gary Moody complete the cast. Marcia Milgrom Dodge directs with music direction by Scott A. Eckert. Scenic design is by Wade Giampa with costumes by Drenda Lewis and lighting design by Susan A. White.
